In 2009-10, we begin a special series of “Salon Evenings” at the Alcazar Theatre, intimate performances where Moon performers and special guest stars will celebrate in story and song the life and works of musical theatre composers and lyricists. Tony-winner Cady Huffman (The Producers) hosts our first evening saluting the work of lyricist and librettist Dorothy Fields. Ms. Fields’ collaborators included Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Cy Coleman, Jimmy McHugh, and others, and her brilliant song hits include I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, On The Sunny Side Of The Street, A Fine Romance, I’m In The Mood For Love, The Way You Look Tonight, Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now

CADY HUFFMAN first hit Broadway as a drag queen in the original production of La Cage Aux Folles. Soon thereafter she was cast in Bob Fosse’s last original Broadway musical, Big Deal, and was later nominated for a Tony-Award for her performance as Ziegfeld’s Favorite in The Will Rogers Follies. In 2001, she originated the role of Ulla in The Producers: the new Mel Brooks Musical, for which she received the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Her film credits include Hero (starring Dustin Hoffman, Geena Davis, and Andy Garcia); John Turturro’s Romance & Cigarettes and The Nanny Diaries. She also appears in The Company Men, Dare and Choose, three films scheduled to be released in 2010. She co-produced, starred in and co-designed the film Sunday On The Rocks which played at several film festivals around the country and won 2nd Place Feature at New Haven Film Festival in 2004. Some of her guest starring television appearances include Amber Licious on Frasier, a murder victim on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, a convincing witness on Law & Order: Trial By Jury and the Barking Woman on Mad About You. She also appeared as “herself” in several episodes of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and was the 2nd Dr. Paige Miller on One Life to Live. She is a regular judge on Food Network's Iron Chef America and was recently described by host Alton Brown as the "Kitty Carlisle Hart of kitchen stadium". She has had the privilege of working with Blake Edwards for the last 12 years on a new musical titled “Big Rosemary” in which she plays the title role. With a terrific new score by Drowsy Chaperone’s Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, they hope to bring the show to Broadway in the 2010-11 season. Cady lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their menagerie of pets. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors’ Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
