Discussion Sundays

Get all your burning questions answered about the show you've just seen, during our post-performance discussions with the audience, cast, and crew. Hosted by Artistic Director Greg MacKellan, who explores the history of the original production as well as our current incarnation!  Lear more about the composers, lyricists, book writers, as well as the backgrounds of your favorite Moonie cast members. Discussion Sundays happen on the first and second Sunday of each show in our regular season offerings.

Family & STudent Matinees

The best deal in town for kids, parents, and students of all ages.  Young people under 18 and college students with a valid student ID can see the show for just $10! Younger students receive a family activity guide, an intermission contest (with prizes!), and post-show discussion and visit with the actors for autographs and pictures. A great way to introduce the next generation to musical theatre. This is also a great idea for a kids birthday party. Please contact Education Director Dyan McBride for details or if you have a large group wishing to attend.

42nd Street Moon created the Family Matinee to make musical theatre affordable and accessible for young people along with their parents and to provide families the opportunity to experience classic Broadway. Relevant, fun activities and fascinating discussion guides enable families to rediscover how theatre has served an important function in our nation’s cultural landscape and long been a way for families to come together. This season, we have expanded the matinee to be a Family and Student Matinee, so that college-aged students could also take advantage of the steep discount.

Family & Student Matinee dates remaining for the 2012/13 Season: Apr. 13, May 11.

Dinner and a Show

During the 2012/13 Season, the second Thursday of each production, you can join Artistic Director Greg MacKellan for a sit-down dinner at L'Olivier Restaurant.  Enjoy great food, a glass of wine, and Greg, who will share secrets, stories, and the scoop on the evening's performance.  This year single ticket buyers are welcome to join in the fun. The cost is $45 per person/per show ($35 if you come to all 5 dinners). This cost is in addition to your ticket purchase.

Remaining Dinner and a Show dates for the 2012/13 Season: Apr. 11, May 9.

Please note: Because Thursday performance times will move to 7:00 pm during the 2013/14 Season, this program will not be continued after the 2012/13 Season. However, if you have small, medium, or even large group that would like to have our artistic director or show director join your group for a pre-show chat or talk, please let us know, and we will be glad to help make this happen!
