While we aren’t able to enjoy the magic of theatre in person together just yet, MoonSchool is proud to offer the below services to Bay Area schools once we are safely able. In the meantime, contact Education Director, Anne Norland, at anne@42nstmoon.org for more information regarding virtual theatre opportunities for you and your students!

PLAN A FIELD TRIP

42nd Street Moon celebrates the art and spirit of the American Musical Theatre by presenting intimately produced performances of classic & rare musical works. Our shows often hold roots in important literary works; they deal with political issues, narrate historical events, or highlight complicated human experiences. Plan a field trip and bring your whole class to experience the American Musical Theatre. Each show presents invites critical thinking, close listening, and promotes questions, conversations, and debate!

TEACHING ARTIST RESIDENCIES

Want more theatre in your school? MoonSchool offers on-site residencies and workshops at elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the greater San Francisco Bay area. These experiences vary in length & subject matter depending on the needs and interests of the school. Each partnership is unique and designed specifically for your school! We can teach classes on media literacy, improvisation, and collaboration skills, lead workshops on musical theatre auditions, Shakespeare, and text analysis, or even produce your school’s musical!

42ND STREET MOON MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS

In addition to being entertaining and emotional, theatre is an educational experience! MoonSchool at 42nd Street Moon aims to educate before, during, and after the theatre experience. We offer Family & Student Matinee performances of each mainstage production, as well as supplementary resources and school outreach opportunities!

STUDENT MATINEES

At Saturday, 1pm Matinees, our patrons under 18 and college students with a valid ID can see a show for $10! For kids, there will be an intermission activity, a post-show Q&A, an autograph session with the cast, and more. Performances take place at the Gateway Theatre: 215 Jackson Street
