SCOTTIE WOODARD – GODSPELL
Monday, March 22 at 6:30 PM

Godspell is a modern retelling of the Gospels of Matthew in which an ensemble help Jesus Christ tell the parables by using a wide variety of storytelling techniques and a dose of comedy with an eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, and dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. This show relies very heavily on a small tight knit ensemble of characters in which performers have moments in which they are leading the scene and songs one moment and the next they are a powerful support group for their fellow performers. We will be dealing with the 2012 Broadway Revival of the show which modernizes much of the style of both the songs and the book of the show. When casting this show I look for actors with a ton of energy, charisma and who are willing to commit to the silly and charming style of the show.
