MoonSchool at 42nd Street Moon offers year-round technique and performance-based classes specifically designed for our older kids! Whether your student is brand new to theatre and looking to get their feet wet, or has lots of experience and ready for the next stage—we have a class for you!

To request financial assistance, please complete this financial aid request form.   We are able to offer a limited number of full or partial scholarships, as well as payment plans, each session thanks to our generous donors and board of directors.

FALL CLASSES

Please note: all times are Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Classes begin September 8th and run until December 19th. No Classes Nov 25–29th for Thanksgiving Break.

WAYS TO REGISTER FOR YOUR CLASS

1. Full Series – Make the most of your class by signing up for the full 14 or 15 week series! Every week brings something new and exciting for every class. Register for a full series so you don’t miss a single note!

2. Drop In – Try something new! We know you’ve been thinking about trying that one class. Choose the date you are available and drop in for a session!

3. Monthly – Available for Musical Theatre Jazz, Musical Theatre Tap, and Advanced Tap. Save off drop-in prices and register a month at a time! Each month focuses on a dance combo. Take more than one month and have a whole repertoire in your back pocket!

ACTING

Improvisation

Explore improv games focused on storytelling and work on improv skill building that will improve confidence and comfort during public speaking, presentations, and auditions.

42nd Street Moon Co-Executive Director Daren A.C. Carollo teaches about song selection, resume preparation, attitude, and so much more in this fun class all about putting your best foot forward when you audition! Culminates in Mock Audition with Bay Area professionals.

Get down and funky with Ms. Kiah as she takes you through a hip hop journey. We’ll learn whacking, voguing, house, krump, and many more styles to some sick beats!

Musical Theatre Jazz

Learn and hone foundational jazz vocabulary through a new combination each month (4 combos total if students enroll in full series). Students will also refine rehearsal and memory retention skills applicable to future rehearsal processes.

Musical Theatre Tap

Advanced Tap

Jean-Paul’s tap class will focus on classic broadway tap and is centered around the Stan Kahn Method.  Come dance to the classics and learn the techniques and history of this truly American dance style!

Contemporary Musical Theatre Dance

This class is for those interested in learning and exploring musical theatre repertoire and vocal style. Students will not only get a chance to learn new rep but also perform in class to receive feedback!

PERFORMING

Musical Theatre Cabaret 
Thurs. 5:45 – 7:15 pm

Have you ever watched a Cabaret performance and thought, “I wanna do that!”? This is the class for you. Students learn how adapt your storytelling skills for this environment, write witty banter, cabaret tricks, and how to create an arch to your own cabaret.

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Registrations are processed in the order received. Registrations are accepted until class is full or until the class begins. Closer to the start date of the class, we will email further details confirming dates, times, and other information.

CANCELLATION
If you cancel registration two weeks or more prior to the first day of class, you will be issued a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. If you cancel your registration within two weeks of the first day, there will be no refunds unless your spot can be filled by a student on the waiting list. In the event that we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.

REFUNDS
There are absolutely no refunds after the first day of class. If MoonSchool must cancel class due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund less a $25 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for circumstances beyond MoonSchool’s control i.e. natural disasters or worldwide pandemics.

Due to the nature of the classes, attendance is recommended each week.
