THEATRE FOR LITTLE PERFORMERS

GRADES K – 2ND

MoonSchool offers musical theatre classes for all ages – even our littlest performers! We are dedicated to developing the artists and audiences of tomorrow by giving our littlest performers  the tools they need to increase self confidence, explore their imaginations, and develop an appreciation for the arts. 

To request financial assistance, please complete this financial aid form. We are able to offer a limited number of full or partial scholarships, as well as payment plans, each session thanks to our generous donors and board of directors.

WAYS TO REGISTER FOR YOUR CLASS

1. Full Series – Make the most of your class by signing up for the full series! Every week brings something new and exciting for every class. Register for a full series so you don’t miss a single note! Note: All Musical Theatre 360 Classes are offered in person only. 

2. Drop In – Try something new! We know you’ve been thinking about trying that one class. Choose the date you are available and drop in for a session! 

 

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION

  • Full Series packages AND Drop Ins are available to be taken either in person OR via Zoom. (Exceptions listed below with classes)
  • All students age 12+ are required to show proof of full vaccination in order to join classes in person. Proof of vaccination must be brought to first day of class or day of drop-in class (physical vaccination card, digital record, or photo). 
  • All MoonSchool instructors and staff are required to be fully vaccinated before beginning instruction. 
  • Students who attend class in person will be required to wear a mask at all times. 
  • All students under the age of 12 who are still unable to be vaccinated will be required to wear masks at all times. Weekly tests are recommended for in-class participation for students under the age of 12 this Fall. 
  • We ask that you do not attend class in person if you are feeling ill. If you or someone in your household receives a positive COVID test following your attendance in class, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can alert those who may have been exposed.

MUSICAL THEATRE 360

NEW!

MoonSchool is proud to offer its first conservatory-style program for youth performers that will offer a full spectrum look at being a theater arts creator! Students will be offered classes and activities that build their skills in theater artistic design, auditioning, scene-writing, costume design, makeup design, stage design and more! This program is designed to educate, develop, and inspire the next generation of well rounded actors! 

ALL MUSICAL THEATRE 360 PROGRAM CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED IN PERSON ONLY. 

INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL THEATRE SINGING, ACTING & DANCING

Mon. 4:30 – 5:30 PM
Starts September 20

Instructor: Amanda Nguyen

This class is structured as a fantasy adventure that will take theater students on a 10 week imaginative trek! Students will explore songs from Broadway’s favorites such as Moana, Frozen, Shrek, Lion King, Schoolhouse Rock, Peter Pan and much more. Students will let their imaginations run wild and as they build their artistic and performing arts skills in acting, singing to represent these shows. There will be a Final Recital on the last day of the performance that the students will help design and present!

INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL THEATRE ART & DESIGN

Mon. 5:30- 6:30 PM
Starts September 20

Instructor: Amanda Nguyen

Join us for an immersive theater experience that involves songs, dances, story-telling and art/creation used in many of our children’s musicals such as Lion King Jr, Suessical the Musical, Frozen Jr, Shrek Jr, Little Mermaid Jr. and much much more! Students will let their imaginations run wild as they play theater games and create art projects while also building their artistic and performing arts skills in acting, singing to represent these shows listed above. There will be a Final Recital on the last day of the performance that the students will help design and present!

INTRODUCTION TO PROP DESIGN

Thurs. 4:30 – 5:30 PM
Starts September 23

No show can succeed without fabulous art design and designers! As such, we are proud to present a prop design class like no other. Our youngest theater students will go through a 10 week conservatory-style class and learn the ins and outs of designing props using all the standard building materials like cardboard, paper, glue and tape to create unimaginably amazing stage worthy props! This class will design props for the conservatory 360 performance class to use for their final recital!

DANCE CLASSES

MUSICAL THEATRE FOR LITTLE PERFORMERS

Mon. 2:30 – 3:30 PM
Starts September 20

Calling all future Tony Award winners and Broadway Babies! In each 45 minute session, students in TK-2nd grade will have a blast exploring storytelling and creating characters through the fundamentals of Musical Theatre- acting, singing, and dancing!

HIP HOP FOR LITTLE PERFORMERS

Tues. 4:30 – 5:30 PM
Starts September 21

Our littlest performers will learn basic hip-hop skills along with easy-to-follow choreo! 

Note: This class is offered via Zoom only. 

TAP FOR LITTLE PERFORMERS

Thurs. 2:00 – 3:00 PM
Starts September 23

If your kiddo is fascinated by rhythm and just can’t keep those happy feet still, then register for the perfect entry level class for tiny tappers. In each 30 minute session, TK-2nd graders will enjoy learning introductory Tap technique, body coordination, and how to interpret music using the sounds of their feet! 

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Registrations are processed in the order received. Registrations are accepted until class is full or until the class begins. Closer to the start date of the class, we will email further details confirming dates, times, and other information.

CANCELLATION
If you cancel registration two weeks or more prior to the first day of class, you will be issued a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. If you cancel your registration within two weeks of the first day, there will be no refunds unless your spot can be filled by a student on the waiting list. In the event that we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.
