KIDS CLASSES

AGES 7—10

MoonSchool at 42nd Street Moon offers year-round technique and performance-based classes for kids! Whether your student is brand new to theatre and looking to get their feet wet, or has lots of experience and ready for the next stage—we have a class for you!

To request financial assistance, please complete this financial aid request form.  We are able to offer a limited number of full or partial scholarships, as well as payment plans, each session thanks to our generous donors and board of directors.

SPRING CLASSES

Please note: All times are Pacific Standard Time (PST) and are being held virtually until further notice.
Classes begin February 16 and run until May 22.

WAYS TO REGISTER FOR YOUR CLASS

1. Full Series – Make the most of your class by signing up for the full 14 or 15 week series! Every week brings something new and exciting for every class. Register for a full series so you don’t miss a single note!

2. Drop In – Try something new! We know you’ve been thinking about trying that one class. Choose the date you are available and drop in for a session!

PLAYWRITING
Tues. 4:00 pm

Students use creative writing exercises to develop interesting characters and meaningful stories. Using metaphorical characters, young writers will expand their Theatre IQ by doing deep dives into objectives, obstacles, and tactics. Each writer will then develop their ideas into their own two-character, 10-minute play. The class will culminate in a reading of all the plays by adult actors! Ages 10 – 15.

VOICE

GROUP VOICE

Musical Theatre Group Voice Class is for students who are interested in singing musical theatre repertoire. Along with vocal techniques, students get to learn, work on, and perform new songs in class!

ACTING

IMPROV

Explore improv games focused on storytelling and work on improv skill building that will improve confidence and comfort during public speaking, presentations, and auditions.

PERFORMING

FROZEN KIDS
Sat. 10:00 – 12:00 pm
Starts Feb. 20

In this performance based class,  students will work on singing, dancing, and acting skills as we work toward a 30 minute virtual performance of Frozen Kids! An adaptation of the Broadway musical, it includes favorite songs like “Let It Go”, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” and more! We will have auditions where each student will receive a role.

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Registrations are processed in the order received. Registrations are accepted until class is full or until the class begins. Closer to the start date of the class, we will email further details confirming dates, times, and other information.

CANCELLATION
If you cancel registration two weeks or more prior to the first day of class, you will be issued a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. If you cancel your registration within two weeks of the first day, there will be no refunds unless your spot can be filled by a student on the waiting list. In the event that we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.

REFUNDS
There are absolutely no refunds after the first day of class. If MoonSchool must cancel class due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund less a $25 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for circumstances beyond MoonSchool’s control i.e. natural disasters or worldwide pandemics.

Due to the nature of the classes, attendance is recommended each week.
